so aftermarket spark plugs aren't a good call? also, i'm here in Fort Worth and a cold front just came in, its about 25 degrees, and my truck didn't start up as fast as it always does. is that normal? is that an indication that i need new spark plugs? i bought it used with 60k and im not sure what all has been to it

that could be alot of things. could be the fuel pump leaked down, bad battery, bad starter, needing new spark plugs, needing new fuel filter, etc. did it crank fine? did it hesitate when it fired up?

I don't understand why in the hell you would put two piece plugs back into a 3 valve. That's just crazy IMO.

dont worry about the valve noone knows what exactly happened there just look at the plug. this came out of a 2v but i cant see it being too different from the 3v.

ive got a new battery, it cranked fine but just a little slow to fire. it wasn't long, but it was noticeable. So this can be a spark plug issue?

3 valves are totally different Matt - BIG difference..It's 2 piece vrs 1 piece. Champions are the best choice for the 3 valve because they work and they don't break.

This is what you get with Motorcraft Junk -

And they have done nothing to resolve the problem as far as I know. Federal Mogul on the other hand has.

Yes they have (sorta), Jim - the PZT14F is 1 range hotter than OEM and doesn't carbon as bad. Not everyone is having good luck with the Champions. I wouldn't use any of the other plugs for that engine though. Whatever you use, make SURE you use nickel anti-seize on the ground sleeve.
