5.4 tick
Try looking at the exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side. I have a 2 5.4's and both have the same bolts broken.
Both make a "ticking" sound. I'm getting one fixed next week so hopefully that's the ticket.....

I had the same problem with my 06 Roush Stage 1 5.4, It turned out to be a factory defect in the heads, Roush only gives you a 3 year or 36,000 miles warranty on the truck which they changed in the 07's. I just bought a new motor and getting it installed as we speak! I will teardown the original and inspect it! Will keep you all post on the findings! But the symptons was ticking in the motor, then tripping CEL with codes#P0344 and P0340 in the Bank 1 and misfiring! Then this month I lost all power and stalling on the hwy with hard to start! The Truck has 84,000 miles of hwy traveling and local driving on the motor! I have tried new coils and plugs, VCT solenoids on both banks and new cam sensor to no avail. Ford recommended a new motor!
