i was wondering if there was a way to get the fuel filter off, the stores are closed and i have most tools. i undid the clip but i cant get it to come off the line at all. its satuck. i need to get it running to get it to work. i dont want to run it because i hit the filter trying to get it off and i prolly knocked some sediment around.

Is this your first fuel filter change on that truck? According to my maintenance schedule, it should be every 15,000 miles.

Yep! That's the tool that works - and I have a bunch of line tools

That's the only tool that will make it a 10 minute job..

Well if you don't have the tool - Have plenty beer in the fridge! I never got that plastic one to work.. - Maybe you'll get lucky..Who knows.

The 98 fastener has 3 stainless clips inside. You need to pry those outward at the same time. The plastic tool just tackles one at a time..
