There still junk!
I just saw some pics over on one of the Lightning sites and the valve guides were falling apart!

My first set of heads were Patriot,,,and I never had a problem with them,,but I only had about 4 or 5000 miles on them when I sold them.

most valve guide failures i heard of were from people running high lift cams at the limits of the valve springs.

Hmm - what about having my stock heads worked to try and save some money? Would it be worth it? Or is it impossible to approach that kind of power without pi heads? Any other opinions on the mustang intake manifold swap? Does it make any sense to port match the stock intake...?

Cool

HI!... Don't buy modular performance heads with cast iron valve guides. They break/crack. Get Manganese bronze guides. Don't port match the guides to the heads. Leave them alone!!!!!! The valve guide in the modular head is not very long to begin with. You take like a 1/2 inch off in port matching it. Then the valve becomes unstable and will "WALK". Trust me, I know.
