Well, I can't seem to upload pics here today, there's a problem with the site.

BUT, I'm tearing down the 98 and took a few pics of those lines and put them online.

Here -

BTW- If you don't have an oil cooler on a 7700 , you got gipped

6500 lbs is on the heavy side for me. Usually I can pull a 1900 lb trailer in OD no sweat , - she was downshifting more than I like @ 1900 RPM's 70 mph -last trip for some reason..?? Time to go thru it - 35 ponies oughtuh do it.. - That's with 256,000 miles, she's getting tired ?

Nahhh..

One more thing - The 5fours run very cool in the crankcase right from the factory. What you ave to watch is the trans. If you change out the fluid in your 4R100 and throw 16.4 qrts. of Amsoil in there . - You won't have to worry about it. That sh^t blows my mind - BIG difference in temps.!!

Hey Mitch!!! - I 'm not using Motorcraft plugs this time lol..

im running a derale trans cooler, unfortunately i havent had the opportunity to see how cool it runs my 4r70w. its nearly double the size of the oem unit and has its own dedicated fan and thermostat for $150. that guy should handle your needs for your trans.

i havnt read all the posts but doesnt ford normally have provisions in the oil filter housing/adapter dealy for coolant?

Dare I ask what brand you are going to use? I know it can't be Autocraps or Bosch..

NGK and Denso make great quality plugs, i'd recommend them just as fast as motorcrafts for our trucks.

I can see I am going to have to crawl under and have a look to figure this out. I can't see anything but the trans cooler lines and rad hoses in jbrews pictures. Maybe I'm still asleep? The one picture does show the oil filter in its remote location, which looks so much easier to access than mine, but I can't see the lines coming off of it either.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have been searching everywhere for the oil cooler pictured here. Does anyone have a part number for that oil cooler connector (for 2001)? The barbs on mine bent, so I need to replace just that, but can't seem to find the part anywhere. Thanks for the help!

Edit: Sorry, finally found it by chance: part F8UZ6A642HA

I looked up and found F8UZ6A642HA it is replaced by 4C3Z-6A642-A and that fits my truck.
But I'm not sure if coolant runs through it or it runs oil to a oil cooler?

I think it's for a super duty though:
