heat gauge doesn't work

I have a 1981 351W. The heat gauge doesn't work. Where is the engine heat sensor located? I thought I would replace that to see if I could get the gauge working, but I can't find it. Help.

if its factory then i'd think its on the intake manifold. it may be on the passenger side of the block if not on the intake.
