my service engine light came on today so went down and had the code read it said o2 sensor 1 bank 1 circut overheat he told me it was probably just the o2 sensor but i dont know wich one is sensor 1 anyone have any input on this

today my service engine light came on the code said sensor 1 bank1 circut overheat the guy told me it was probably just the o2 sensor but i dont know what sensor is sensor 1 and do i have to disconect the batery and clear the codes when i change it?

Assuming you are talking about a Ford "V" type engine (V-6 or V-8), bank one is passenger side, sensor one is the first sensor in the line (before the catalytic converters).
