Should I buy my K&N from here?

It's cheaper than it is in stores and it's free shipping. Has anyone ever bought from AutoAnything?

If you have a 2004 or 2005, I would suggest custom tunes before you put on a CAI. And if I were getting a CAI, it would be this one.

if you want just a filter and not a cai then go ahead. but realise that the oil charged filters can cause more damage than there worth. the oil can contaminate the maf and your electronic throttle. and you wont have any gains with just a filter. you'd have to a cai and a tuner to make it make a difference.

If all you want is a cleanable filter, order an Amsoil filter. It's a dry nanofilter and it's guaranteed for 100k. Clean it with a vacuum or an air hose. A K&N dropin doesn't do anything for you, I had one for a while and noticed no difference whatsoever between it and a stock filter or the Amsoil.

I'll second the "big difference" post. I didn't have an earth-moving difference but I can tell a difference when pulling an approx. 5000 lb trailer and car with a truckload of people and full tool box. To me if you can drop a filter in and feel a difference, even in these circumstances, it must be pretty significant. But I would really watch out for the oil of the K&N or similar filters. I just got done cleaning my MAF sensor and throttle body due to excessive oil from the K&N.

Don't go K&N, it did nothing for either of my vehicles, and my oil got much dirtier quicker as per visual and oil analysis by Blackstone Labs.
I actually found dust in my intake tube past the air filter with the K&N, and my oil became really dark after only 3,000 miles of running. It used to look like honey at 5,000 miles before I went to K&N. I then got my oil tested and confirmed that my engine oil had way too much contaminants for the mileage.
It all went back to normal after I went back to to the OEM paper element. This was on a Jeep and F150.

Well, when I had a drop in K&N there was absolutely no difference in performance and mileage.
Sounds to me like you did not get the answer you wanted to hear, and the 'big difference' is in your head. It's called the Placebo Effect.
BTW, I now have an Airaid FIPK with a K&N filter on the end, and there was a noticeable improvement (but not a "big improvement") in power above 3,000 rpm compared to stock or with a drop in K&N filter.
