P1151 on 1997 Expy 5.4L
I pulled a p1151 off of my brothers 1997, 5.4 expedition with 160k miles.
Found this from jbrew
P1151 Lack Of HO2S21 Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean
Good news is I can look through the fenderwell and see the sensor.
Money is very tight for my brother.

- Can he replace the forward drivers side O2 sensor instead of replacing both?
- I think we need a bosch sensor right? Others are not as good or something to that affect?
i've always used bosch without any problems. my roommate had a mess of problems when running bosch in his mustang. so he claims anyways, i think he got the wrong ones for his. bosch's are a little bit longer than factory i think, which makes it harder in the tight space they are located. you may want to view the "how to - o2 sensor install" sticky, i think it'll pretty much answer any of your questions.

Yea,http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/?a...3408bff5&lct=s is good as well. It's better to change both forward O2's at the same time. Then Reboot.
BTW - http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/?a...3408bff5&lct=s offers free shipping after 50 bucks. BOSCH is OEM.

Honeywell is OEM for spark plugs (Motorcraft). Honeywell also makes Autolite plugs. We have widely documented instances of Autolite plugs not working properly in the Triton because they are not made to Ford specs. Can we prove that the "generic" Bosch O2 sensors are made to Ford specs, or if there is a difference, it doesn't matter?
JBrew, you rightfully point out that there's a sticker under the hood that says for best results, use genuine Motorcraft replacement parts. This definitely applies to spark plugs from the data we have. However - I'm a bit concerned about how this may apply to O2 sensors. I believe that from the data we have, you can use Global COP's at a fraction of the cost of Motorcraft and get satisfactory results. Have you used generic Bosch O2's with the same results as Motorcraft?
No doubt, but at the risk of derailing the thread, I have some concerns about that. Hear me out, if you don't mind.

Coils - Globals are Motorcrafts IMO. If you flip them over, they have serial number stamp on the shell in the same locations/ same number sizes and are progressive. If their not Motorcraft , then it's a hell of a imitation - they've proved themselves to be just as reliable.

7/8" open end wrench was used to replace the front o2 sensor on the drivers side. The connector was harder to connect than it was to disconnect.
Cleared the codes and drove it around 100 miles in 2 days without any codes.
Thanks for the advice !
