What happened ? Did the 4six blow ? I mean blow up... It just seems like you would get a motor for it first.



BTW - Camaro's make nice tool benches .

didnt blow yet, if you remember my head gasket thread. I'm torn wether doing the head gasket or doing the swap. Either way, with the engine out anf I dont swap, itll be easier to do the head gasket. Still hoping on the swap though


and yes, a mess, my buddy ripped the trans dipstick out and it poured. . .

Were you able to pul the engine with out removing any wiring?

you could upgrade to p.i. stuff and gain power through increase in compression or go 5.4 if you have the time to get a motor, then get a tune for use with your 4.6 computer

A PI swap on a 4.6 yields little power, and still would require a tune...

I'm not PI'ing anything. If I get the 5.4, I have to put it directly in, no mods. Absolutely no money.

if you can, in that case, try to find a 99-03 5.4. if the price is right on that 98 2v 5.4, i would still go w/ that over the 4.6.

make sure you put the dipstick back in before you drop the motor back in. it's a bitch once it's in.

Find someone that has a wrecked f 150 with a 5.4. Low ball them and use the "no warranty" as an excuse. Try to get the wiring harnesses with the engine, than it will be no prob. Thats what i did

I have a 5.4 sitting for me in a 98 Navi. Its $600 for the complete engine and harness... Harness will do me no good since I'm sticking with my 4.6 coils n PCM.

CTC- why in tarnation did you pull that thing without taking the fan off? You're gonna have to change your name to Camarothatcouldn't- at least for the time being. One thing for sure, that driveway isn't gonna rust anytime soon. LOL
