spark plug replacement on '05 5.4 engine

Hello,I just recently purchased a 2005 f-150 supercab Lariat with the 5.4 liter engine. Truck has 40k miles and I want to replace the sparkplugs.I was wondering what special techniques/tools are needed to perform this maint.,and what brand plugs to use. Also any info on aftermarket ignitions i.e MSD etc. and programmers seem to work best.I have already installed a Flowmaster single side outlet cat-back exhaust,a K&N FIPK and an Airaid throttle body spacer.Any help would be appreciated.Great website,Thanks,Jim.

Welcome. Yes, follow the TSB explicitly, even to the brand of cleaner used. Remove the TB spacer, does not work on these engines. Motorcraft plugs work the best, but some have gone to the onepiece Champion plug.

See the Search tab above and to the right? Click it, then click on advanced search. Enter Champion spark plugs and see if you get some hits to read.
