this shows the plastic fastners going through the radiator. I losened the two bolts holding the radiators straight up, and tilted it back to make it super easy.

Looks great! Do you think that the plastic fasteners will hold up or cause leaks in your radiator?

Above is a view from the driver side into the hood, the picture below is from the passenger side... oh and i taped the heck outta the hanging wires b/c there was nothing to run them on, so i left them hanging and when i drive through high weeds and stuff on the trails i wont pull em out.. the wires are pretty high up...

I hope that the plastic things wont eat through my radiator.. but its steel and not aluminum like old ones.. should be strong enough.. right?
Also the plastic fastners, where touching my radiator, are on foal pads.... so one, they arent in contact with the outside of the radiator, and two, they are a lot tighter so maybe they wont rattle around...

Can you feel a difference in performance?

What temperature are you having the fans kick in at?

When Pat did my install he pushed the probe into the radiator, that might provide more accurate readings

i noticed that i dont have to upshift when i normally would on a hill near my house... it feels a little faster.

My fans are set somewhere arround 100 the 1998 f150 radiator is set to cycle fluid at 190 degrees i think so i just set it earily.. dont know if im suposed to

i think if you push the probe into the radiator it will come in contact with the metal on the radiator instead of the air arround it... so maybe its not a good idea.

Hey, scot... so where did he tap into the wires so that when the ignition is off the fans dont run still....?

Pat actually wired it so that the fans stay running after the engine is shut off.
To stop them from running when you shut down the motor you need to wire it into the ignition.

I prefer mine to run though after the motor is shut off. Only one fan is on the thermo, the other is operated by a switch in the cab, and it cycles on and off for about 15 minutes ones the truck is stopped. Helps cool things down a little faster plus it sounds cool

My fan is set to kick on once the cooland temp hits 195, that is perfect because you really do not want the fans running when on the freeway.
When I am on the freeway the motor runs right at 193 so both fans are off.
If the fans are running when on the freeway it can damage them.

Ask pat about the probe going into the radiator, he is Mr E fan and he should have the best answer for you
