well u would unclamp yer intake tube, pull off your throttle and cruise control cables..set those aside.. unbolt yer 4 throttle body bolts..pull it off...use a dremel to port it then put a polisher on it at well..u should also do the elbow behind it as well...then reassemble, and connect your vac. lines...I plan on doing this in the near future as well

Its a waste for the amount of time it takes to do this and to do it right..... If you get near the butterfly and goof it up, your never gona get it to idle right. If you want something better, go for a bigger BBK or Edelbrock throttle body. I doubt you'd be able to even notice that difference. I have one and I actually like the Ford one better. Idles much smoother and less of a pain in the butt.

Cool

HI!... Do not use a dremel! It will take for ever and will look like crap. I was one of the 1ST to do this mod on the TB and TB ELBOW.

You need a strong (corded) drill.

- 1, 1/4 shank carbide cylinder shaped cutting bit.
- 1, 60 grit 3 inch paddle style sanding wheel.
- 1, 80 grit 3 inch paddle style sanding wheel.
- 1, 120 grit 3 inch paddle style sanding wheel.
- 1, 180 grit 3 inch paddle style sanding wheel.
- 1, 240 grit 3 inch paddle style sanding wheel.
- 1, 3 inch polishing wheel/polishing compound.

You can also remove the butterfly and trim down the front section of the butterfly shaft and use S/S counter sunk head screws.

The TB ELBOW used all the same tools.

STOCK TB ELBOW :

PORTED/POLISHED TB ELBOW :

HI!... You can also taper the beginning of the TB to lessen the restriction of incoming air flow.

HI!... If you feel energetic, you can do your intake manifold too. Works better with stage two CNC'ed heads.

Great job Neal! I think ONELOWF has ported as well. That's impressive and hard to do in my book. The write tools is a necessity. Takes time , patience, skill (no-how) to port. I trashed a TB attempting to port - gave up on that, but I know I could do it if I get the ambition to. I cracked the throttle plate/tps bearing chamber somehow..

What I did do is polish the TB, Plenum and lower intake. The lower intake was tricky. The aluminum manifolds have allot casting imperfections that you need to take down first before you can start the polishing process. I used a flex attachments to worm thru the chambers - cheap ones , went thru about 10 of them during the process .

Used a Milwakee drill motor and numerouse finishing attatchments along with compounds such as Red rouge and Jewlers.

Once polisehed, nothing sticks.

Stock motors - This will help everywhere thru the rpm range, but it's not likely you'll notice. This is just a part of three mods that's needed to get some results.

1. 3" AFTERMARKET INTAKE. (2 valve) (AF1 W/Dry element (CAI only)
2. LT's(D-Tecs,Kooks) + HF's(Mags/Bassani) + Cat back (Corsa,Mag,Borla,Roush)
3. Get on the dyno and dial her in.

That gets you a nice performance jump and depending on which of your tunes you have running - you can get a hell of lot better mileage!

I'm gonna take you up on that fast. Hey, do you guys off the divider (upper intake) that splits the two chambers into the manifold /just below the plenum?

I was thinking about recessing that a little further - at-the least.. Or just removing. It looks as though you can smooth the transition easy enough.
