Dead Lifter

Found out my truck has a dead lifter anybody know how much that will cost to fix? Just curious. And what does that really entail I'm not really a gear head, I wish I was., just the basic maint.. ie: does that mean I would have to take the motor out.

In a nut shell you need to;
1- Remove intake manifold
2- Remove the valve cover
3- Remove the rocker arm
4- Remove the pushrods
5- Remove the valve lifter guide plate & retainer. 2 bolts hold it in place
6- Remove the lifter.

Note: I omitted the required info about the coolant and all the other stuff to get the intake manifold off. I will assume that you know about this. If not post up and I will add.
