Fan Clutch Removal

I have a 2002 4.6 Windsor engine. I read that I need special wrenches to remove the fan clutch. After a little thinking I decided to use a 14" pipe wrench to hold two of the fan clutch pulley nuts and then I used a 12" adjustable wrench on the big nut to remove the fan clutch. Once I got everthing positioned the way I wanted it came off pretty easily.

Mine was right handed threads but I've heard that some are left handed so be careful. Hopefully this will save some of you some tool rental money. That is if you already have a large enough pipe wrench and adjustable wrench.

Great Tip on the fans. FYI All the 97+ F-150 fans are conventional threads. Righty tighty, Lefty loosey.
