Shudder while slowing down?????

Now that I FINALLY figured out the starter problem ( thanks a bunch guys )..

When I slow down, not necessarily with the brakes it is shuddering real bad.. It almost seems to follow the rpm range... Real hard to tell if its front or back.. It feels like the entire truck shaking.. It has NEW brakes, front and rear... I did notice when I did the brakes last my caliper pins werent sliding the best back and forth.. Any ideas what this can be??? Wheel bearings?? Ball Joints???

Thanks
Sean

please explain what you mean by the calipers werent sliding the best. do you mean they were tight or loose. if thats the case then i'd say your calipers warped the rotors. does the steering wheel shake?

That always happens to me when my tires get old and are out of balance.

The caliper pins are not sliding, I tried freeing them with heat and couldnt budge them... There is only 500 miles on the brakes and as far as the tires go, they are almost new with less than 1k on em. I have been having problems with the rear end shuttering when I make turns, ONLY after I drive the truck for a little while, never while cold, and yes I changed the gear oil and added the friction modifier... Could the rear end be toast??

the pins need to be free. thats probably your problem. they can still warp the rotors.

as far as the rear end goes it may be spider gears.

if you got a whole nother rear end it is a simple swap. all you need to do is make sure you have something to hold the rear of the truck up off the ground. then take out the drive shaft and brakes and cables and brake lines then the u bolts and its out then reverse the process to put the new one in.

I dont think the gears are that much really but rear ends are tricky. If you havent ever done one it might be something you want to get some help with..If you dont have a locking differential now would be the time to do that to. You can tell on the door panel if the code for the axle has a letter in it its a posi numbers are open. If your not happy with the gearing of your truck now would be the time to adjust it. on 4x4's you have to do the front to. all that could cost a couple grand if you paid someone to do it. I think it would only be about a grand or a bit less for all the parts. you can buy a hardware kit for the brake that isnt that much to replace the pins..
