I have a 2006 F150 XLT Supercab 4X4 with about 25K miles on it and I get 15.5-17.5 mpg and I do about 75% highway driving. I try not to get on it too much to try to save all I can but these things just love gas.

I have a 1998 5.4 V8, 4x4, SuperCab, excellently maintained, 142000 miles, 14.5-15 mpg's. And that is all local hilly driving with maybe 50-80 miles per week highway.
My last tank fill-up, I did the math, 14.9 mpg.

There's nothing more gratifying than the sound of a V8 with a little exhaust work....especially with one of those fart canned Hondas next to you.

Although, I made the mistake of taking on a Subaru wrx sti....I'll give respect to those for sure.

i started hypermiling in my truck and watched my mpg go from 13-18 onboard after a day of hypermiling. the toughest thing is timing the lights and dealing with bad looks from people, but it works. i bought an edge about a month ago and i got 21 mpg hw on my way back to college in my 06 5.4 lariat, occasionally i was able to milk 25 mpg but its tough to maintain speed at such a low rpm. my fave thing about the edge is the instantaneous mpg, accelerator pedal position and rpm gauge. using those 3 along with my mph gauge ive been able to find the optimal rpm rating at almost any speed for my truck to maximize mpg, and now that winter is coming up i dont need to use my gas sucking air conditioning anymore

I agree about figureing MPG the old fashioned way.I have a 2007 F-150 XLT Supercab 4X4 5.4,3.55 Gears. The truck is all stock the last tank i got 15.25 mpg back and forth to work 9 miles each way fastest i go is maybe 55 mph.My brothers wife has a V-6 Fusion she was bitching about the mileage that showed on the dash.My brother figured it with the gallons into the miles and is was like 6 or 7 mpg better.

Later Mark.
