**what is this**

Can someone tell me what this line is? I changed my oil today and it was wet, kinda oily wet or greasy wet, when i wiped it off, it came apart, it was like a tube, and it just stuck right back in.

The pics are from under the truck, facing forward, theres 3 pics, one of the line, then one zoomed out, then one zoomed out even farther.

Oh yeah, this is an 06 4.6L V8 4X4

why does the tube pull out so easily? And then when i put it back in it felt like it was just sitting in there, did feel like it "connected" to anything. Should i get it looked at, its still under warranty

Heck yeah. I'd get it looked at. At least then you will find out what the hell it is.

it is the vacuum line for the 4x4 engagement. If its covered in oil, it probably will be easy to slip apart.

it wasnt covered in oil as in i spilled oil on it, it was producing its own wetness.
