4.6 to 5.4 harness swap help
The 4.6 and 5.4 intake manifolds will not swap.
Here's one.

Way to much money in my opinion and not needed.
The plastic manifold will work fine!

If your 5.4 engine already has a manifold then save your $$$ and use it. All the plastic manifolds should have a metal coolant crossover. It can be removed so it can be tapped for an extra sensor. You could drill it and weld a bung for the extra sensor. FWIW you do not need the engine coolant sender, the one for t he instrument cluster. The PCM uses the other one so in a pinch don't connect the sender and wait till you decide what you want to do. Your instrument cluster will not show the coolant temp but your PCM uses failsafe cooling to protect the engine from over heating. I have personally driven for miles in the failsafe mode.

I had the intake manifold off before I swapped the engine and I gasket matched the SOB. I know for a fact that it is a PI intake. Neal has one just like it. The 1999 model year F-150 with the 5.4 had a metal intake manifold and it was a PI design from the factory.

alright. i think i will be alright with whats on there now, but anyway, which one is the coolant sender for the instrument cluster and what ones the one for the PCM. Also how would it act if on fail safe mode? Does it just shut off and not allow you to start it until its cooled down?
well i have a tap and die set so i will have to put my lack of skills to the test, gotta learn sometime. I am getting the engine sunday so i will have pictures up. Probably going with forged internals rockers cam and such. I will probably not run boost for awhile.
3/4 NPT tap i believe. do yourself a favor, go SLOW with the tap. im not trying to say you dont know how to use it, im just pressing the fact that the taper of the tap CAN and WILL screw you over if your not careful. this is thin material here. and soft.
tough call, i dont do much with plastics. teflon thread tape might work just fine, actually it should. thread lock - will it eat plastic over time?
probably the safest thing to do would be use a light coat of silicone on top of thread tape.

Should i just keep it at stock height at throw some meat grabbers on some 20s like built54? It looks way sexier. If i cannot find a kit i will have to do that
