hotter plug recomendation

Hey guys, Im new to the site and have to say I love it. I just brought my 04 F150 to ford and they said I have a slight misfire on 1 and 3 and recommend I run a hotter set of plugs. Does anyone know of a good set that they recommend I purchase?

theres no need for hotter plugs unless your burning oil and such. try pulling the coils and put some dielectric grease in the boots and see if that helps. if not then it may be time for new cop's and tuneup. and if you want the hotter plugs then look through motorcraft because the modular engines are picky about there plugs.

If it's a 5.4, yes, you should go hotter. That's not to prevent misfiring, it's to help keep the plugs from sticking in the heads, which is a big issue. The latest Motorcrafts recommended for these engines are hotter than stock.

How many miles are on your plugs? Slight misfires can also be caused by tired COP's (coils).

Are you planning on changing the plugs yourself? Before you do, search this forum - there are a TON of threads about 5.4 3v spark plugs. You may just want to have the dealer do it, and you need to discuss beforehand how plug breakage will be handled. It's potentially a very costly job.
