"Ford Tough" ain't no joke !
{so often I can not find the right forum section... no different this time}
Oh, and I don't mean Ford tough.... like 'tough to work on'... okay, well maybe a little :-) But I do mean to say, anything that uses this many freaking nuts and bolts, geeeez ! You sure can't say they were skimping !
Anyway, I don't remember if I ever reported how many freaking nuts, bolts, and clips hold the front and rear bumpers together, and onto the truck, but I swear it had to be close to 70 of them ! That job took like 5 hours total, to get them off, and stripped down.... then put back together, then put back on ! {for powder coating}
So, I don't know why I should have expected, that removing the rear seats from my supercab would be any easier... But damn ! Another 2 1/2 hours, and probably 70 more bolts, screws, clips, etc that ranged from small philips screws, to 4 freaking 1/2" by 6" to 12" bolts that went square through the floor, and all the way through the frame ! Took a 1/2 drive impact wrench to get them broke loose !
Oh, then there was that electronic sensor mounted against the back wall, which would have totally been in my way..... but fortunately, we were able to swing it around into the space where the seat belts travel (I had extra space in there, as we removed those too) without ever having to unplug anything..... didn't even have to move the ground wire. Oh, and yes, we did mount it down solidly, with screws.
Anyway, there is one kind of lame hump across the rear bottom of the cab, that is going to be a bit of a PITA to work around, but when I get my false floor built, and everything carpeted, I'll post a picture here.
Geez, I had quite a bit of space back there before.... But now it just looks cavernous ! Cool thing is, I bet I'll have more space back there with a subwoofer box, and giant amplifier, but without (useless) seats, than without a subwoofer box, and amp, but with seats.
Whoooo. Glad that's out of the way !
Peace,
Fish
