ok i appoligize for my ignorance in advance but had a question about my truck. just the other day as i was pulling in my driveway the oil pressure gauge dropped real low and kicked the dummy light on. the pressure was only low at idle so after reading on here a while i checked a few things that people said it could be, such as bad sensor/wiring what not. i didnt really do anything but jiggle a few wires, the problem went away for a few days well its back today. i did notice today that when the truck was under an electical load is when the oil pressure dropped, such as at ide if i were to roll the windows down or blast the radio, it really doesnt do it any other time. Could the battery or alt. be the culprit? again i dont know much about trucks on a mechanical sense but thought this would be a good place to start.

btw its a 98 with 4.6

 

i forgot to mention that when i said at idle i ment when in gear/ or reverse. all is fine when in park
