F 150 timing
The factory spec is 10*, but not everyone uses that spec for various reasons.
You hook up a timing light to the #1 spark plug cable (and to the battery if applicable), remove the SPOUT connector, start the motor, shine the timing light on the dampener and look to see where the timing is at. Adjust as needed by rotating the distributor (you will need to back off the ditributor hold down bolt) untill you achieve 10*. Tighten the hold down bolt. Run the motor untill it is hot, check the timing again with the light to make sure it still reads 10*. Adjust if needed. When ou are done, put the SPOUT back in.
