what changes were made to 2008 4.6?

Just bought a 2008 screw yesterday with a 4.6. This is my 3rd Ford truck. I have owned a 2000 super cab, 2001 screw and now this 2008. I see the HP on the 4.6 in 2007 was 231 and in 2008 it is up to 248 HP. What changes were made?

i think 07 they bumped it up to 248. not 100% sure but i remember reading they upped the power on the 07's from 06's.

just to let you know if you plan on CAI. 04-06 systems will not fit on 07-08. throttle bottle is twisted instead of straight so it will not line up.

the lower runners on the intake manifold and plenums were port matched. the intakes runners are cleaned up quit a bit. thats the one physical difference i noticed. and im sure they changed the tune added degree or so of timing.

How much time does a project like that take? Is it pretty easy to do?

Cool

HI!... Knife edging where you did will do nothing. If anything you just hurt flow due to now you will have a fair amount of turbulence where the lower and upper plenum meet in those areas. You should of removed the center divider in the primary intake port though.

Like this :

These are perfectly gasket match. Can't go larger unless you cut into the gasket.

Here's the upper :

took me about 5 hours total to do it
burned up the bearings and ceramic brushes on my Makita die grinder though lol.

big cost it the tools and the carbide aluminum burs that are single cut. their about 30 bucks a piece for good ones. the cheap ones will chip and screw up ur cut. but this is the 4th intake ive done. but the one going on my new motor im having CNC ported to match my heads. to expensive for me to piddle with
