Name that sensor...

Need to know what this sensor is and if the hose that runs from it to the intake tube can be routed to where the PCV hose runs on the back of the intake. If venting both PCV's.
that'd be the IAC (Idle Air Control)
i think the passenger side is the only pcv, drivers side hose is just a breather.
im not understanding what your wanting to do, i dont have a 5.4 (thats what this setup looks like to me)
the IAC should get a metered air supply before the TB.
if this helps any for you, the lightnings runs a 3 way hose. one runs from the lower intake to the IAC, and also T's off to the PCV. - Ford design

My drivers side crankcase vents into the intake tube.
My IAC also runs off a port on the intake tube.
I want to put a breather on both crankcases.
And run the IAC tube to where the PCV hose ends. The nipple right below the IAC.
Will this work correctly?

Nope. IAC needs air from before the TB. it is what makes your truck idle. otherwise you'd have to start playing with the throttle blades.

trying to scab it together?
i read part of your other threads last post. have you got any window weld / urethane around? that augtha fill a crack and stay flexible.

I tried silicone and it patched it for about 2 weeks. Noticed pinging starting up again. Went to pull the hoses off the piece and the whole thing came off.
I think I'm gonna ghetto rig some pvc 3' straight pipe and attempt to tap the right size nipple for the IAC hose to plug into it. The piece is already so fugged up that its not repairable. I'll just put a breather on the drivers side crankcase.
Its probably gonna be a pain to fit a nipple into the pvc piping though...
It will take 1-2 weeks to get whatever intake I choose to get in.
Should I tap the pvc piping with something? Or just drill a slightly smaller hole for the nipple and force it in?

oh your in alaska. i see your dillemma now.
if your intake tract rubber/plastic crap is what fell apart, you can do what some of the others have done on these boards (jbrew i think has done it or maybe it was faster150) and use PVC. drill a hole and get a nipple, tap the plastic for the nipple and use a hoseclamp. that would be best but if you dont have the tap or access to one, i think you'll be able to get away with forcing the nipple to tap its own threads, then remove and use some sort of thread sealant. theres that white crap with PTFE like thread tape has.
if you do this method your main issue imho becomes fitment and placement lol.
oh i forgot, youll have to figure out a way to mount the maf to the pvc.

It's a great mod for cold climate conditions. When she idles alot or you make frequent short trips in the winter, you can get sludge build up that can plug up the PCV lines and effect the IAC. This prevents that somewhat - Helps keep the IAC operable.

no jbrew you made it entirely more complicated than what i was saying. i was saying someone on here and i thought it was u that used a home made pvc intake.
snowman, go for the pvc idea, you kept enough of it to not worry about the maf issue. just need to make sure it seals tightly against the piece you kept.

Hey your truck will run without the IAC. i made my lil werid intake and just blocked off that tube the truck idles real funny till it warms up a lil it will go to 600rpm then to 200 rpm and do this about 4-5 times then sit at 550-600 rpm
- Made 3 myself - 2 out of PVC and One @ a Muffler Shop - Cost me $20 to have them bend up a 3" piece of pipe.

That won't help you tho, yours is different. In fact - I like that set up, if that's it in the pic you posted - I would fix that one right and order the part personally. Specially if I was having problems with the way it was running. Besides, that's and oval piece - Looks like the Lightning type composite or close to it @ the TB, hard to duplicate that one.
What's the Throttle body look like on that 5four?
