Help!

When I started my truck this morning it started up then sputtered and died. Hmmmmm....

I start it again...it sputters and dies. If I hold the gas a bit while I'm starting it I can get it to run but if I let off the gas at all it sputters and dies.

I changed the fuel filter tonight on the off chance that was the problem...nada.

Any ideas? The only other problem lately has been on hot days it will occasionally do the same thing, then start on the second or third try. It doesn't happen often...maybe once a week.

Yes it is your IAC just behind the linkage for the gas cable. Tap it a bunch of times to see if you can get it working again. (or replace it.)

I got the truck to idle at about 500 RPM earlier, then I took out a wrench and tapped on the IAC...bingo...idle popped right up to 800 RPM like magic.

Then I came in here and saw your post...you know your stuff.

Thanks!
