Would it be possible to use the 5.4 off of a 2004 fx4 and put it into my vehicle

With enough skill, know-how and available tools + equipment any motor swap is possible.

no, it would not be a simple swap. your engine is set up for 2 valve heads, while the newer 5.4 is a 3 valve. it is not a simple, easy swap.

you'll need more than just the engine, you'll probably need a new harness, and perhaps a new pcm as well. btw, the guy who swapped in a v10 into his F-150 is a Ford Tech, and had to use a whole load of superduty parts in order to get his truck working properly. in the end, you may find it to be cheaper to drop another 2v 5.4, and bolt ons to upgrade your hp.

hey man all i said is it was done, didnt say how much of a pain it was, it was just done, yea a older 2v 5.4 will be eaiser than the new 3v 5.4 because its ment for that truck but its still possible and if hes gettin a good deal on a new 3v then why not do that and get the new wires and all that other stuff

Not likely.

No motor swap is simple.

Motor swaps always take longer than planned, there are always problems and hang-ups of some kind that come up and things never go 100% according to plan.

Never take on a motor swap thinking it will be simple.
