Loss Of Power?

I Have An 03 F150 supercrew lariat with a 5.4 liter and the son of a bitch will not brake torque anymore or even whip side ways it used to but after i change the plugs and cops it wont really seem to do it any more. i was just wondering if anyone new what i could do? thanks

Start with cleaning the MAF. Do a search for more info about the "Mass Air Flow" meter.

yeah i cleaned that a little while ago with alcohol and a Q-tip it was pretty dirty though

the modular engines are picky about there spark plugs. what plugs did you use? you need to use factory motorcraft plugs because they are built to factory specs. and they make a very big difference. there have been many cases like this where motorcraft plugs have fixed the problem.

I used the Bosch platnum plugs that they said dont require regaping

Did it happen right after you changed the plugs and COPs?

if so, and your 100 percent certian everything is right....

....Take them out and leave them out. These engines HATE Bosch plugs...

Yeah i went over it a couple of times i am pretty sure its right. well thats good to know i wish i knew that before. so how about motorcraft?, or autolight?, Also do u think that performance cops would make a difference?

Get the Bosches out. This is a picture from a '02 5.4 that was losing power after a week. Notice the electrodes are gone!

and when you clean your maf. dont touch it with anything. just spray it with electrical contact cleaner.

When it comes to ignition components, its hard to beat the factory stuff. Motocraft in this case.

would it make a difference if the motorcraft plugs are for a supercharged engine? cause they are the only ones i can find
