You explain.
The theft light was blinking code 16 you f@ck! Pre 99 didnt have the digital trip odometer thefore you cant do the reset code retreival of of the trip odometer but you can off of the theft light and code 16 means it can not read the key code...... anyways, i fixed it and if you cant act like a adult then dont reply to me! maybe you should go fist yourself and have a beer! I think that may fix your problem.

It was my chip! After my dyno tune last week my truck was acting funny, it had a ruff idle and it thru a CPS, right, and left bank o2 sensor codes and i really hadent driven it till yesterday. So today i was tryng everything todo with the pats because the theft light was blinking really fast for about 30 sec and then flash a code 16 wich means that the pats can not read my key but this also happened on the dyno a few times and the fix their was to pull the chip and reseat it. So as i pulled the chip today it felt warm and the truck still would not start so i pulled my PCM harness out as far as i could to test for power and for the hell of it I put my spare PCM in and it worked! The reson it did not work yesterday when i was on the side of the road is because when i installed my spare PCM i also installed my chip wich is bad and i think killed my original PCM.

Now you know damn well you made it sound like you were getting code "16"from your Odometer. You said nothing about a scanner. I know pre 99's didn't have digital- Guess what, no PAT's either, for that matter. Yea , I didn't see you had a 97 until later on page one and I CLARIFIED that back then. Freakin pay attention! - Dipsh^t.

It was not a scanner, it was the red theft light on the dash and the 97 Expeditions do have the pats! I clearly said the theft light was blinking fast for about 30 sec and then blink code 16. soooo you freaken pay attention

97-98 Security Theft lights are in the cluster unless they did something different on the Expy's . Code 16 on a 97 - The number 16 came up ?

Your High ! No PATS on the 97-98 150's - Expy's are pretty much set up the same way. Prove me wrong or yourself right, if you can and I'll take it all back. Until then, I don't believe it.

BTW - I am paying attention, even you should be able to figure that out -

brew, theres part of the pats system on our 97-98's. i don't know how functional it is though. i dont think its a true pats system, hell i dont think it will even do anything unless the clusters out.

OP- i as well am unaware of this flashing code 16 on the theft light on any model.

Yea, Klitch -

I don't even think it's called a PATS system - It's something else that really never amounted to much. Lock your doors w/remote / horn goes off your set right ? I know those can be a PITA in the later models tho. I could have swore they read out on the DIG OD Window??

Wait, it would be on the DVD right. I can find out another way. Have to wait tho, I gotta get to work - I might be back in a couple hrs if CAT didn't fix my machine Saturday. If they did , I won't be around till after 8 in the PM - Freakin Slave Drivers, but I love payday

Regardless, I'll find out what sh^t for brains is trying to say, sooner or latuh

I havea 98 expy with a digital odometer. I am going to do the light fix on it when it is here long enough. It lives in Houston, so I haven't seen much of it in the last 6 months, maybe the last year. I don't think it has any kind of Pats tho. But the lights on the odometer work intermittenly.
Matter of fact I can't find my link to that thread. But I'll look it up when the truck is here long enough for me to dig into it.

I thought in 99 the cluster change and looks more like the lightning but with a 100mph speedo.
