i recently purchased a 2000 ford f150 5.4, i got it cheap because it has an engine knock, it sounds bad but it runs all right, it doesnt smoke or overheat,
it has good oil pressure, but i dont know what it could be.

 

Just a simple suggestion, are you running the proper octane fuel? One of my buds ran premium in his ford and it knocked... so maybe it's something along those lines. And have you check for DTC's? EVen though the check engine light may not be on, trouble codes can still be occurring, at least in my truck.

Have checked to see were the sound is coming from? The top, front, sides, or bottom. It is probably a rod.

 

i dont think is the type of octane fuel, where can i check the DTC's?
the knock is to loud to tell where its coming from.

 

What do you mean its too loud to tell? The louder it is the easier it is to find.
