check engine light is on

today i got gas from raceway and after getting gas 10 mins down the road it started running really bad and then the cel came on and i used the edge to find out and clear the light it said 6th cylinder missfiring and i was wondering why is that

i think its from ****ty gas bc i only had like a 1/8 of a tank when i put gas in my truck and i usually use bp fuel but reaceway was teh only place open

so how can i make sure nothing is wrong with my truck

when i got home i put 93 octane in it and put my edge on level 3 hoping it will solve the prob

my truck only has 78k miles on it also since i am here asking for some advie being the miles on it and never changed any fluids but oil of course no tranny or nothing what mainteance should i do to get more power from the engine and a lil better in takeoff

Is the CEL light still on? Was the code P0306? If so, check the plug and the COP.

If you suspect bad gad don't go to a higher tune. Why put more stress on the engine with crap gas and a hotter tune? Get some gas line antifreeze and put a few bottles in the tank.

Regards

Jean Marc Chartier

PS. when all is said and done and things are back to normal change the fuel filter.

Fuel filter ? With the gas that low before fill up you might have churned something up in the tank.

Idunno - that's kinduh far fetched...

First thing to do is get a fresh filter installed, you might get away cheap and less work.

Filter sounds like your best bet.

78k and a P0306 - #6 plug and/or cop is quite suspect. So is #6 injector if you got some really crappy gas and you haven't changed the fuel filter in a while.
