What is this?
Well if you want to go in and out of 4x4, you will get the line fixed. Those are the solenoids that control the engaging and disengaging of the front diff when you put the vehicle either in or take it out of 4x4. One is for locking the front diff and the other unlocking. Can't remember which is which though. The lines are vacuum lines to the front diff.
Yea the Blue and Pink lines severed on my 98 once - Actually I think they just got old and brittle.

The white line is the vacuum source for the front axle engage solenoid. If that one cracked the others are not far behind. The white one comes from behind the battery. Pull the battery and the box ant follow it to a Y connector. It should be on the same line as the black line that feeds the disengage solenoid. Luckily there is a check valve on the vacuum reservoir feed line from the engine that keeps leaks like this from causing driveability problems.
I replaced mine with rubber vacuum line. Buy some small zip ties, red, blue, white and black. Attach them to both ends of the lines when all is installed. That will help you keep track of which line is which. if you buy black hose you don't need black zip ties.

First post but been lurking for a long time. I joined because I saw your problem but wasn't satisfied with the solutions posted so far.
It's a really easy thing to repair. If it's not already completely broken, break it in two or cut it with wire cutters. Then get a 3" or so piece of regular rubber vacuum hose and just slip the ends of that plastic line into the vacuum hose- voila, problem solved! The plastic stuff fits into the rubber vacuum line very nicely.

Thank you, sir. I hope I can make a positive contribution to the site. There's no way I could ever repay for all that I have learned from the user community here.
No problem. It's all about users experiences, there's allot of them here. Sh^t happens that needs fixing. Searching the past thru the search bar (forum specific search bar) has endless info and data to draw from. Consumer/field experiences are the best kind when troubleshooting for the average joe. This is one of the best sites on the web for that and it's free.
