5.4 spark plug removal problem

How can I tell if my truck is goin gto be subject to the spark plug removal problem, I heard Ford fixed it in later model 5.4s, any way to tell?

Also can anything be done to prevent the problem now?

ford never really fixed it, but alot of people suggest pulling the plugs as soon as possible and use some anti-sieze

there is some controversy on the use of anti-seize, however, if you do opt to use it, do not torque the plugs as tightly as you would w/o it. also, having the rotunda tool just in case is a good idea. if the plugs are broken, stuck, and deemed non-removable the heads will have to come off, not a cheap route.

Antiseize MUST be used on the ground shell, and NOT on the threads.

It's fixed now, but I dunno how many improved engines are out there yet. Your 07 won't have the redesigned heads.

I've never heard about a controversy about antiseze on the bottom of the plug in the 04+ engines. Some people don't like it on the threads but I would defiantly coat that extension bottom of the plug deal.. I think at 30 k I would pull them..
