Keep in mind..... and factory filter relocation...

Keep in mind that you might get a deal on oil at a parts store. I buy usually whats on sale at Autozone. The good stuff only, none of the cheap stuff or STP filter by no mean. But when you have your oil done at most shops, they get the oil by the drum, and pay even less. So they can charge a low price and still make a profit.

...and, the easy oil change is for those who have the Factory Ford relocation kit on their truck. My wifes 97 XLT Expedition 5.4 has it, my 99 Eddie Bauer Expedition 5.4 did not and oil changing was a PITA. I'm building a 4.6 DOHC
F150 for myself, needless to say I installed the relocation kit in it.

Cheapest as in, is making the least amount of profit, as in what is the quality of their work if they are only earning a buck or two profit.

I usually do my own oil changes using Amsoil SSO 0W30 w/ syn filter. I did start to use the oil change places (52 years old), but got tired of taking the truck back for leaking oil filters, oil splashes on engines, greasy fingerprints, etc. Using a 100% known syn oil, do do extended oil changes.

I take mine to one of the local Ford Dealerships and they charge me $19.95 plus tax, disposal, etc... which comes out to around $23 and change each time. I used to change all my own fluids, but it costs me almost $17 to buy the same filter and oil they use so let them do it and then there is a record for warranty issues. It is an all union service dept and they are very mod friendly so I will only take my cars there for warranty work, etc... I have another Ford dealership less than two miles from my house that I would not let touch my truck as their service dept is terrible.

True, but that's exactly what I get for around $61 out the door, and it's EP, not the regular Mobil 1. Twice a year (spring and fall) regardless of mileage. I have a few grease fittings too and that price includes greasing them.

$5 is what they charge all the time. Call the number. They'll tell you it's $5 every day.
