HP valvetrain suggestions

Im going to do a port&polish on my 97 f150 5.4L, and while the heads are off i want to do a cam valves springs pushrods exc. any suggestions for parts or other mods? Im going to put a supercharger on the truck eventually and want the engine to have good all around power for in city driving and highway towing.

Call Comp Cams,
get cams and springs.
You don't have any push-rods in that motor...
Oh,,,and theses trucks already have roller rockers. So no need to wast money on them ether!

what kind of supercharger are you going to adding? do you have PI heads or are you working the non PI heads??

Don't waste any money on the heads or cams till you get the blower. Too much overlap and you will just blow compressed air out the exhaust. Once you have the blower you can choose the correct cam for the application. Mild porting of a nonPi head is a total waste of time and money.

yea i would for sure swap to the PI heads. and the Cams are not a waste of money on a NA truck.

but one thing to worry about is the Compression ratio that you will gain when you put the PI heads onto a NON-PI piston. if i remember right it will jump to 10.5 or so to 1. and with a Blower thats alittle high.

^^ right,, if i remember right depending on the bolt-ons you have a good head/cam will gain over 100hp..sounds good to me
