460 weight?

460 weight?

does anyone know the weight of a 460 i am getting a completely built one next week and need to put it on an engine stand so i need to know what one to get if anyone could tell me that would be great

Ford Racing lists their aluminum headed 460 crate motor at 670 lbs. That would put an iron headed engine at somewhere around 725-750.

so if i get a stand rated for 750 you think ill be safe?

I'd go for 1/2 ton at minimum just to be safe.

so thats why it took me and 2 of my buddys to pick up a 460 iron heads with a C6 on it. that thing was freakin heavy!....cant wait till its in the engine bay of a 1/4 ton ranger haha the 460+tranny+ axles is gunna way alot more then the truck....im going to be useing a 1/2 ton engine stand for my 460.....what you gunna put it in?
