plug recommendation

hi folks,

i have 215k on my 5.4L 4x4 automatic daily driver. in a recent dealer screwup,
they neglected to replace my sparkplugs. i wanted it done as they are due.

however, now that i missed the opportunity to get oem plugs installed by default, i am wondering if there are other spark plug options that would fit my application and add a bit more zippiness to my daily ride?

anyone?

tia, jackc...

hard to believe

this is the very assertion i was looking to verify. ford claims their 100k mile plugs are best, what do the independent users have to say?

with all the aftermarket options, its hard to belive there isnt a more robust, maybe more explosively burning plug?

i gotta replace them so now is the time for me to ask...

ford plugs are made by autolite just to ford specs. autolite makes the best but they arent built to ford specs under the autolite part number and sometimes the 5.4 and 4.6's don't run right with them but they run excellent with the ford plugs so i'd go with the ford plugs.

Stick with Motorcraft or Autolite. If you use any other brand, you will have problems.

Get the brisk silver racing plugs or the new motorcraft replacement plugs. Stay away from the champions.

If you go to Rockauto.com and look up the plugs for your year and engine, it will list a bunch of plugs, Motorcraft included.

What Motorcraft (Ford) part # are they ? 22's , 479's ? They changed the numbers + the 03 has different plug chambers. The best plugs for your model is the fine wires IMO. Cross Reference the plug #'s in the link I provided w/glc's suggestion " Rock Auto" - Compare numbers.
