Crane, Comp and Crower all make cams for the 5.4L 3v (hint: any Mustang GT 3v cam will fit).

JE makes forged pistons, as do a few other companies. I haven't found a stroker kit for the 5.4L, but there are plenty of other ways to make it better through compression (more of it) bigger cams, head work (or just buy the Ford Racing 3v heads and bolt on 30% better flow) and transmission work to support your mods.

Desratt, check out paschal performance, they have a stroker crank for the 5.4's, with a big bore kit you can get up to 6.36 L out of a 5.4. The also have adjustable cam gears for the 3v engines. Comp and crower both make cams.

You don't need to toss the vct, stage 2 and higher cams need aftermarket springs and they are too strong for the factory cam phasers, eventually breaking them. If you stay with stage 1 cams you can use the stock springs and keep your vct. There is also the new ford cams http://www.suttonhp.com/store/item.a...ARTMENT_ID=253

You can always build up a stroker shortblock, add the ford racing ported 3v heads and the new ford cams and you will have a good solid engine that will retain your vct and make a lot more than the stock 300 flywheel hp.
