I have a pinging sound when I accelerate it almost sounds like a exhaust leak but I checked the exhaust and everything was tight. I am running a magnaflow exhaust witch I have had for a year with no problems. Anyone have any idea's. It just started doing it a week ago. It is driving me crazy.

I have a similar sound when i start up, idle, and sometimes when i accelerate. I'm 99% the sound is coming from the cats, but i wont know for sure until i replace them. You might want to check if it's your cat's.

 

Sounds like u have pre ignition try running a high grade gas see if that helps. My buddy's does the same thing but when he runs high grade gas it goes away.

 

I have a custom tune from Bill at PHP. I am running 89 all the time. I try to stay away from cheaper gas also. I will check the manifold to see if it is leaking.

 

An exhaust leak makes more of a ticking sound...and should do it all the time, not just under acceleration.

 

i have it too, unless you really listen you can only hear it under acceleration. if its the same as mine, what the problem is is the exhaust manifold gasket is either broke, gasket pieces missing, or a couple studs could be broke which is my problem causing the exhaust leak.
