im sure you know this already, but when doing injector work its a good idea to have a tube of KY jelly handy (im not the least bit joking). you will need it when installing the new injectors or reinstalling the old ones after cleaning.

Jbrew,
Checking the fuel pressure is pretty straight forward, use a gauge.
As far as Fuel Reg., I checked the vacuum line today for proper vacuum, and it was in spec. What is my next check or proceedure with the fuel regulator.
Is it as simple as the Haynes manual states.
" while fuel pressure gauge is connected, disconnect vacuum line from FP Regulator, if the fuel pressure increase considerably, the regulator is good" (is it really that simple?) The manual goes on after that but.....
To be honest with you, that section is a bit confusing and I read it a few times.

Thanks,
TJK

I'll try the PM later, my Wife just brought home dinner. I def. would like to get this info from you. Can it be emailed. I have a junk email address that I can give you and just pick this info from it. I use it for cases like this and for cases that everyone will see it and God knows what will be sent.

Man, your scaring me with the KY Jelly, lol lol Appreciate the input tho. Still laughing at your response Jbrew.

Well, I sent you regular email I think ? - it went anyway . Here's some pressure test info -

@ idle 30-45 psi

@ idle w/vacuum hose detached 40-50 psi

Hold pressure/key off/after 5 minutes 30-40 psi

System MAX = 65 psi
_______________________________________________

Regulator -

Connect a hand held vacuum pump to the regulator and read fuel pressure w/vacuum applied. Pressure should decease as vacuum is increased. (Vac pump tool is available @ most auto supply stores $20-$30.)

Detach the vacuum line from the regulator and verify vacuum is present when the engine is running.

I read that the vacuum line to the EGR doesn't have vacuum when the tranny is in park. At what point does the EGR Solenoid activate so that the EGR valve functions. How can I check the vacuum at the EGR line.

Thanks,
TJK

That line itself is only 9"'s long and Green - works thru your PCM /by command - usually @ cruising speeds.

Here you go - http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/egrmonitor.htm

Has nothing to do with your lean codes.

That's weird that your initials are TJK as well. You from Central NY also.
I'm actually a reliability engineer for a Tier 1 automotive supplier. No cool lasers here....

Well if you don't find your problem first, keep an eye out for a post with some pics on it. Good luck!

Oh I'm in the Chicago area. Never been through NY

I sent you the Intake Manifold removal procedure as an attachment - It's pretty extensive (over 500kb) with diagrams. Good luck with yahoo lol . You might wan to download that to your desktop and if you don't have "Word" - Open w/Outlook express. If you use a MAC comp. - let me know - I use both. I 'll format a PDF file for yuh.

BTW - Google "docs" can read "Word" doc files as well.

Scorpio has been around for quite awhile. Anything "Emissions oriented" - That site is my go to for detailed info. You might wanna save that one somewhere - it's saved me a few times.

EDIT: - Also, the last resort since Aluminum manifolds don't have a cracking issues - Your upper intake and lower intake gaskets should be replaced if all other testing has been passed - ie-no leaks/no fuel supply issues/regulator is not restricting flow/ - Other than that - Your IAT grommet can cause these codes as well as any air intake leaks. Your valve cover grommets / breather tube can also have that effect. Double check before replacing the intake gaskets - That's a bigger job.
