I've already said what I had to say except for one thing. I'm not going to say any names but when you see someone has a real post. Please don't TROLL it. Two wrongs don't make a right. I clearly had a serious question and made a serious post and I get jackass comments on here from people that are almost trying to start something for "attention"

It's over. Screw off. Don't take it personally. Also it does not matter how long you have been here, you are not any more important than anyone else. Take your 7th grade rant to the kiddie pool and keep it off people's threads. If you have any REAL issues with someone. Do what is suggested and contact a mod.

Yep, I did it and grew out of it.
My respect for you just went up several notches with that simple statement. Thank you.

Shall we both get on with the real purpose of this forum, and that is to help people?

Fine by me, glc.

Anyways, I have this same problem, too. Although I have the 5.0L in my '94, my air intake hoses for the throttle body have a little accumulation under them. I know it may be different for the 4.9L, but is your "leak" right over the belt like mine? I think it may be from mud etc. getting splashed on the belt and it slinging up on to the hose. I'm not near my truck now but I think the air intake hoses for the TB are right above the belt. I do notice that the belt has slung water and mud etc. on the bottom of my hood..

Let's look at it this way - you guys have trucks that are over 10 years old, and unless you steam clean the engine periodically (which is a BAD idea) you are going to have crud buildup in all kinds of places - and the crud really isn't coming from any place important. All it takes is a little seep of something, and even dust will be attracted to it and will build up. Even a properly done engine detailing job is not going to remove all crud. I bought my truck used from a L-M dealer, and they had detailed the engine, it *looked* spotless. First time I opened the air cleaner housing I stuck my hand under the housing to support it, and came up with a greasy hand.
