Changing oil pump

Hello, I'm installing a new oil pump on my 5.4 lightning engine and was wondering. Is there a gasket or o-ring that goes between the block and the pump? I never noticed one when I pulled off the old one. Thanks

There is no O ring or gasket between the block and pump. It is just a metal to metal mate. There is a O ring however at the oil pan pickup tube to oil pump connection. Make sure there is one installed before reinstalling the tube to the pump. If it's not there you can generate loss of prime to the pump from the oil pan and possible engine failure. Good luck.
