help on buddies 95

well my buddy has a 95 f150 with a 351. when its not fully up to temp when running, no matter what the throttle is at, it will miss for a split second then come back then itll do that again, this repeats when on the gas on and off until the truck is completely up to temp. i changed his plugs and wires tonight so i know thats not it. timing? stretched chain? new distributor cap? and ideas would be great guys.
