2004 4.6 tapping noise on top of engine?? what could it be

Possibly the Cam Phaser, do a search to learn more about it.

i use 5w 20.. to be honest i think it is the alternator. i just had it replaced and i put a screwdriver on it and i felt the tap. i put the screwdriver all over the engine and no tap
