Will opening up Intake on PI heads lose TQ?

Ok on the 4.6L PI head swap with Comp Cams will opening up the intake ports lose low end torque? Like Fox Lake stage II with they lose low end. I only care about low end TQ on this Truck.

Why would that happen?

Think about it...would choking off the intake increase torque?

Nope.

What would "lose torque" is a cam that provides only mid or higher range increases. If the cam in question doesn't kick in around 1500 RPMs, find another one. Power comes from enough air and fuel mixing and combusting and spinning that crank around. More air won't hurt if the engine can do something with it.

The only thing I am worried about is opening it up will lose intake velocity therefor losing TQ. I am not set on cam yet but am looking for one that comes in at the lowest rpm possible for the low end grunt.

When you say only add power I am guessing you mean high rpm HP. Do you lose any low end at all? Even though I mainly care about low end grunt if I do not lose low end then TQ then I may go ahead since everything is apart.
