Antifreeze..

I have an 2005 F150 FX4 with a 5.4L and i went out this morning and the other morning and theres whats looks to be antifreeze on the snow almost from one end of the truck to the other. it almost looks like its running off the exhaust all the ways back and even in some spots the exhaust isnt. Im half worried because i baby this truck, i dont burn the tires i dont take it off road or nothing.

Any advice please let me know!!!

Thanks

Do you smell anti-freeze? My old ladies car seems to have this too, very small but can't put a finger on it. My rad went twice on my truck so don't be surprised, ice may get jammed in the fins and crack the rad or whatever. These things are brittle, but check anywhere there is coolant flow, even to the heater core.

As long as it doesn't smell of anti-freeze, and believe me, you can smell the least little bit when the trucks hot. I wouldn't worry too much for now, once the storm goes then give it a good going over. Sometimes too the combination of road salt, snow, undercoating whatever give funky colors. What color is it? Aren't newer vehicles having the reddish anti-freeze?

thats what im thinking because its coming off the exhaust and also other places underneath. I really dont know where the overflow bottle is on my truck, if its the bottle on the drivers side then i did see a light reddish liquid in one.

whats on the snow is neon green so i just assume its anti-freeze

If your degas bottle has red fluid in it, then the green stuff you see is not *your* antifreeze.

Your coolant should be Gold! Red is trans fluid.

Well we just had over 50cms of snow and the front of of the truck was buried, so i was wet and cold. Is the overflow the bottle on the drivers side? cause i just opened it up and peaked in quickly, and its a shade over the cold mark and my truck was cold..

NHguy is right, unless you have changed your antifreeze, it is GOLD, not green.

Sounds to me like it's getting an early start on St. Patty's day.

Gold huh, I thaught it was more a orangey red, in any case, if it's a neon green, probably not yours. It's your wifes boyfriend and he drives an older vehicle. I'm almost certain your overflow degas resevoir is on the driver side, washer fluid should be blue and on your passenger side. WAIT A MINUTE, what color is the washer fluid? Sometimes they come a neon green color, I'll bet thats what it is dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! False alarm
