A friend of mine is looking at a 05 5.4L FX4 supercrew, and was wondering how common the injector issue was.

Must be possibly common b/c FMC gave the extended warranty for most 05' owners. I run fuel injector cleaner thru the tank periodically just as a precaution. May or may not help but who knows. I have an 05' with 47k and so far no problems.

 

I have had one froze open, blew out the catalytic converter, put gas in the oil, but didnt toast the engine....yet....

 

I hope I dont have that happen knock on wood

 

33k no problems, run only BP and every fouth tank put Pro-gard with Techron.

how is the motor running now??

 

60k on a 05 5.4 Supercrew. No engine problems at all, no codes, no rough running or anything.

They only thing we had go wrong was 3 window switches go out before the warrenty ran out.
