throttle delay on 04(5.4)

i have a 04 fx4 f150 & it seem like i have to push to gas pedal in alot before it starts to move. it has the pedal that you can move so i always figured the cable had some slack in it but i read something on here about people have to get im guessin the computer flashed, so i figured i would ask if that is what it sound like i need done. when you put it in drive it will just roll backwards unless you push the pedal in about an inch, which seemed odd but like i said it has the pedal deal so i figured maybe thats how it works. i just want to know if that is right & what seem the be wrong? thanks

you have an electronic throttle. there is no cable. have you owned the truck a while or did you just buy it? just askin in case its something you just happened to notice or if the throttle isn't like it use to be. and yes there have been a bunch of threads on here about updates fixing the problems.

i have had the truck for about 6 month, and it has done it but i just thought it was because of the adjustable pedal, and when i came across this site i notice alot of people talkin about get the throttle flash. so i wanted to know if i had the same problem on mine.

so when you take a truck to get reflashed what will be done, just reboot the computer. has anyone esle had success with a programer for this problem. And Last, FROM WHAT I HAVE DESCRIBED DOES IT SOUND LIKE I NEED A REFLASH OR MAY IT BE SOMETHING ESLE.i searched but every talks about there truck actin like it get no gas at all and only gettin to 1000rpm with a check engine lite on, i havent had any of that yet. can you adjust the idle on the 04 5.4s.
