Exclamation No throttle!

I have a problem that developed last week Monday. I start the truck and try to get the engine warmed up; but when I release the gas pedal the engine immediately dies. I re-start and have to run it at constant 1500 - 2000 revs for about 15 minutes before it starts to throttle on its own. What are the possible causes and what checks can I begin making? I haven't been able to drive it since last week.

Clean or replace your sticking IAC valve.

Sounds like the idle air control valve. Take it off and clean it good. It is right near the the throttle body.

Not sure where your IAC is - It depends what motor you have in that F150,you didn't say.

They look like one of those deals behind the elbow in this pick -
