need advice diagnosing problem

HI

1999 Ford F-150
almost 90,000 miles
regular fluid changes and routine maintainance
fuel filter just replaced
MAF recently cleaned
K&N air filter
original spark plugs and COPs
no check engine light as of yet

here's the issue...

yesterday on the interstate truck seems to be missing or misfiring while at speed

today it misfires while idleing and city driving

from what I've read on this board and listening to my intuition I think it's time to replace plugs and all COP

What does everybody else think

That would be a good place to start, especially if they are originals.

At 90k, its due for plugs. The cops may or may not be okay. Considering the hassle to change the plugs anyway, for what Global wants for a set of cops I'd prolly do both.

Like glc says get the set of cop from global, you can get the whole set for the price of two locally, and some plugs should easilly fix your problem, I recently had the same issue and it did the trick! 2002 5.4

5.4

yeah you guys right forgot to add it's a 5.4L engine

OK, check engine light finally comes on last night

I have 70 miles to drive home from my girlfriends on the interstate tomorrow - I don't think this will cause any damage to my engine considering it's misfiring - just gonna take it easy

what do u guys think

It's not good for it, you'll prolly get away with it. If you have a check engine light on, just get it read @ the Zone and replace just the coil that's bad for now. Plan on doing all the plugs and coils in the near future. - ASAP.

When you replace all the coils , keep the one you get today for a spare.
